Where to Go for Bend’s Best Bagel Carts & Cafés

New York-style. Montreal-style. Jersey-style. Here on the West Coast, many of us think of “bagel” as a single variety—but that couldn’t be further from the truth. Bend may not scream “bagel capital,” but we’re seeing more specialty bagel spots pop up across the region.

From stacked breakfast sandwiches on housemade bagels to distinctive varieties (like what, or who, is a Seth Rogen?), these spots offer some of Bend’s best bagels and bagel sandwiches.

1. Bo’s

It’s not to say that Bo’s happened by accident, but what was once esteemed for its falafel (and still is) might now be best known for its no-hole bagels. On weekends past, Bo’s experimented with bagel-making. They served very limited quantities to the public and often sold out within minutes.

Now, Bo’s serves bagels and breakfast five days a week. The popular rosemary honey salty bagel likely tops their charts—and our list of favorites. Go classic with an egg and cheese plus your choice of bacon or sausage. But, you’ll be missing out if you don’t try one of Bo’s memorably-named (and filled) bagel sandwiches.

The “Gouda” layers melted Gouda cheese, maple bacon, grilled tomatoes, shaved red onion, and arugula with a fried egg on your choice of bagel. Meanwhile, the “Brie & Apple” pairs melted brie, apple compote, shaved red onion, and arugula over the bagel of your choosing.

It’s worth noting that Bo’s caters to the gluten-free crowd. It offers loaded hashbrowns plates topped with all of the classic Bo’s fixings. Bagels and breakfast are served Wednesday through Sunday from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m.

2. Farmer’s Deli

What started as an elusive sandwich cart parked along Brooks Alley is now a hot go-to food truck for breakfast and lunchtime sandwiches. Farmer’s Deli offers breakfast sandwiches served between local favorite Mimi’s Bagels. These hand-rolled, New Jersey-style bagels have earned the loyalty of many East Coast bagel fanatics—and Farmer’s Deli puts those bagels to work! Visit Farmer’s Deli

3. Thump Roastery & Bakery

Sure, you might know Thump for its locally-roasted coffee, several coffee shops, and fun café drinks like the Spicy Mexican Mocha. But Thump has another trick up its sleeve—housemade bagels and pastries. That’s right, all your favorite Thump pastries are made in-house at the York Drive roastery and bakery location. Here, you can enjoy Thump’s housemade bagels as a breakfast sandwich. A top favorite? The spicy breakfast sandwich!

If you can’t make it to the NorthWest Crossing bakery location, you can still enjoy Thump’s bagels at any of their local cafés—including Downtown, The Grove, and

4. Haven Bagel

What started as an online shop now lives in a brick and mortar space at Reed South in Bend. Founded by Elijah and Antonia Myers, Haven began as a farmers market favorite. It has blossomed into a beloved local bakery and café. Their bagels are made from scratch daily using organic, non-GMO ingredients. This reflects their commitment to traditional baking methods and sustainable sourcing practices.

Bagel flavors are not your average picks—although you can still find classics on the menu. Haven makes bagels in varieties like parmesan, dheddar scallion, jalapeño swiss, and seasonal specials like cranberry orange. Offering gluten-free options, Haven caters to diverse dietary needs.

More importantly, Haven partners with local producers, such as Well Rooted Farms and Backporch Coffee Roasters. They deliver an authentic farm-to-table experience from local growers and producers. Haven is open daily from 6:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., where guests can take their savory treats to go or enjoy inside the café.

5. Angeline’s Bakery

Angeline’s Bakery is a beloved destination for wholesome baked goods in downtown Sisters. The bakery is popular for its commitment to catering to diverse dietary needs. It offers a variety of bagel flavors, including all seed, cinnamon raisin, lemon pepper, and other classic faves.

Here’s what makes them so special: Angeline’s bagels are hand-rolled, boiled, and baked daily, never compromising on freshness. Customers can customize their bagels with a selection of spreads such as hummus, peanut butter, or vegan cream cheese. They can enjoy them as part of hearty sandwiches featuring fresh vegetables and flavorful condiments.

6. Big O Bagels

Undoubtedly, Big O Bagels is the OG bagel hub of Bend. In fact, it’s been a cornerstone of Central Oregon’s bagel scene since opening its first shop on Galveston Avenue in 1994. quote

I wanted to share more than where to eat, but what to eat. And not just what, but why? From where is the food resourced? Should it be paired with a beer, or a cocktail—and what kind? But most importantly, share the faces and tell the stories behind the people who make it all happen, showing support for small business in and around Bend.
