Save the Date: Cork & Barrel 2022

After a turbulent two years, Cork & Barrel is back in full effect for 2022. For the 10th annual food and wine festival, the event features guest wine region, Willamette Valley. Mark your calendars for July 15 and 16 at The Riverhouse Convention Center for A Sip of Cork & Barrel and Grand Cru, presented by Avion Water. All proceeds from Cork & Barrel go directly to the KIDS Center, a Central Oregon non-profit.

Winemakers Dinners

Relish in an evening of Willamette Valley wine tastings and chefs’ pairings right here in Bend. The first of Cork & Barrel’s winemaker’s dinners takes place on Thursday, March 17 at Pronghorn Resort. Here, Alexana Vineyard and Winery will be pouring some of their best wines and sharing stories from the vines. Enjoy an early spring evening at one of Central Oregon’s finest destinations.

Then, on Thursday, May 5, Willamette Valley Vineyards joins Bowtie Catering at White Aspen Creative (Widgi Golf Club). In the second winemaker’s dinner series, Bowtie Catering will create some of their finest dishes to pair with the region’s namesake winery best known for its Pinot Noir.

Finally, on the eve of Cork and Barrel’s main events, Stoller Winery hosts its Estate Chef at their Bend wine bar for a truly curated experience of the Willamette Valley. On the same night, Currents at the Riverhouse hosts a winemaker’s dinner, with the winery to be announced. Both dinners take place on Thursday, July 14.

Each winemaker’s dinner runs from 6 to 8:30 pm. Tickets are $150 each and include a prix fixe menu with wine pairings. Afterward, guests have the option to enter the magnum raffle. In addition, guests can make a monetary donation to the KIDS Center. Sign-up to be the first in line to access tickets.

KIDS Center and Cork & Barrel

Central Oregon’s KIDS Center might be one of the most important organizations in our community. KIDS Center is dedicated to the prevention, evaluation, and treatment of child abuse. Built by the community over 25 years ago, KIDS Center provides comprehensive medical evaluations and forensic interviews in a child-friendly environment to children who may have experienced abuse.

Along with these services, KIDS Center provides a path to healing through family advocacy and therapeutic services. Because families never receive a bill from KIDS Center, the center relies heavily on the generosity of our community. Therefore, over 20% of the KIDS Center’s budget relies exclusively on Cork & Barrel events.

About Eat Drink Bend

Nancy Patterson of Eat Drink Bend takes a picture of beer on a table outside in Bend, Oregon.
quote

I wanted to share more than where to eat, but what to eat. And not just what, but why? From where is the food resourced? Should it be paired with a beer, or a cocktail—and what kind? But most importantly, share the faces and tell the stories behind the people who make it all happen, showing support for small business in and around Bend.
