Riverhouse Celebrates 50 Years with “Dining Through the Decades” Series

You’re cordially invited to travel back in time! As Riverhouse on the Deschutes prepares to celebrate its 50th anniversary, the spotlight is on a unique culinary journey. “Dining Through the Decades” will highlight its anniversary festivities, offering a series of monthly five-course thematic meals.

Dining Through the Decades

Each dining festivity includes beer or wine pairings celebrating each decade since the hotel’s opening in 1974. Riverhouse will host a series of dinners that celebrate the evolution of cuisine and pay homage to its rich history. Dinners will transport guests to a different decade, starting with the groovy 1970s.

Guests can enjoy offerings like Cypress Grove goat cheese croquette, Tequila sunrise pickle-brined Mary’s Farm chicken lollipop, Olympic Provisions Käsekrainer sausage, steak frites, and bananas flambé. Each dish will pair with beverages that capture the essence of its respective era.

Supporting the KIDS Center of Central Oregon

In addition to providing a delightful culinary experience, the “Dining Through the Decades” series supports a worthy cause. A portion of each ticket sale will benefit KIDS Center of Central Oregon, which serves children and families in need. This partnership underscores Riverhouse’s commitment to giving back to the community that has supported it for the past 50 years.

quote

I wanted to share more than where to eat, but what to eat. And not just what, but why? From where is the food resourced? Should it be paired with a beer, or a cocktail—and what kind? But most importantly, share the faces and tell the stories behind the people who make it all happen, showing support for small business in and around Bend.
